I’m doing a group show in the summer overseas, and it’s going to be AWESOME! I’m really excited about the theme, and there are some killer names in this show. I’m really grateful and stoked to be involved.
However, I checked the artist list for the show, and only 5/50 artists are female. I guess I’m just not sure how that makes me feel. Is it that there are so few females in the event coordinator’s repertoire, or is the art world dominated by male artists and that’s just how it goes? Or is it just the content of the show that matters, and who cares if the artists are male or female?
Hate thinking about this kind of stuff without having the balls to say anything.
